Building History
The building was constructed in 1903 as a trolley barn for the local Interurban train cars that traversed Kennett Square and surrounding areas. There were four garage doors for trolleys to enter the building for service. At some point in the 1900s, the building was then occupied by the Mushroom Growers Association and was supplying the local and national mushroom growers with supplies and mushroom spores. Following a fire in the building sometime in the 1980s, the building was vacant until National Safety Clean took over, later becoming Lion Total Care. Lion Total Care repaired and cleaned Firefighter garments in this building until 2018 when they vacated and moved to a location in Delaware. Braeloch Brewing then became the fourth tenant of the building. After 18 months of construction, we opened our doors to the public on March 1, 2019.
